Oregon goes 1 and 2

The Dallas Wings have selected Oregon’s Satou Sabally. Wings also pick at the No. 5 and No. 7 spots in the first round.

HOWARD MEGDAL: Sabally brings both a high ceiling, with still developing tools, alongside the ability to serve as secondary playmaker as a 6’4 forward. The best way to think of what she can be is an Alyssa Thomas who shoots the three, and that obviously hold enormous value. But the bigger reason for Sabally going so high had less to do with the instrumental role she played in Oregon’s rise, and what teams thinks she can become.

DREW IVERY: Dallas did the right thing in keeping the #2 pick and using it on Satou Sabally. She is an excellent young talent and has all the tools to do well in the WNBA, especially in Dallas with Head Coach Brian Agler. It will show to be a great fit as time goes on.
