After a breakthrough season in 2019, the Chicago Sky have an opportunity to get even better this offseason. It helps to have a star like Diamond DeShields on a rookie scale deal, of course, and the happiness of a backcourt pairing, Courtney Vandersloot and Allie Quigley, who are settled in Chicago already. But signing them both to whatever max deals the new CBA ends up allowing for will eat into that 2020 largesse a bit, too, with the same thing true for Stefanie Dolson. Then again, if James Wade elects to make Jantel Lavender his primary high-priced center, that’ll leave him some operating room to add more in the backcourt and give Cheyenne Parker more court time as well.
