It will be fascinating to see whether the Seattle Storm, who were able to suspend Breanna Stewart and see her get paid by the league as an ambassador, reward her this offseason with a long-term deal, or let her play out that final season of a rookie-scale contract. Either way, though, they add the 2018 MVP to what was a playoff team, along with the best point guard in the history of the league in Sue Bird. There’s little room to add both financially and in full-protection deals (especially if the secure Stewart this offseason), but given the quality of role players on hand already — Mercedes Russelll on rookie scale? Sami Whitcomb somehow on $50,000 a year????!!!???– that shouldn’t be a problem for Dan Hughes and company. There’s something elegant about a spreadsheet like this one, Alisha Valvanis. We salute you.
