The women’s hardwood version of the Civil War has been a hot ticket in both Corvallis and Eugene for a while now. This season figures to be no different.

The two teams split the series last season with each defending their home courts. When the national spotlight went on, though, it was Oregon that advanced to its first Final Four while Oregon State bowed out in Sweet Sixteen.

Like the Ducks, the Beavers return most of their firepower from last year. Their top four scorers–Destiny Slocum, Mikayla Pivec, Kat Tudor and Aleah Goodman–are all back. Their major loss was Joanna Grymek.

Oregon State also added some vital pieces in a top 20 recruiting class. Most importantly, they added size.

Kennedy Brown, Taylor Jones and Jelena Mitrovic all give the Beavers interior depth that they lacked last season. Redshirt freshman Andrea Aquino, a top 25 recruit from last season, joins that group.

Will the Beavers’ newcomers allow them to overtake the Ducks’ supremacy in the state of Oregon?
