Minnesota Lynx

The Lynx entered the season as somewhat of an unknown without Maya Moore, Lindsay Whalen, and Rebekkah Brunson, and Seimone Augustus out for a large part of the season. But a solid veteran inside in Sylvia Fowles and Rookie of the Year frontrunner Napheesa Collier set new standards to lead the way.

Head coach Cheryl Reeve also made some big moves, moving up to fifth all-time in regular season wins (231). Reeve entering also made the top-5 all active coaches in the league.

Individual records set by the Lynx this year:

  • Fowles passed Lisa Leslie to become the new all-time leader in double-doubles, ending the season with 163. Leslie had 157 double-doubles in her career.
  • Turnovers were a frequent problem for the Lynx, and Odyssey Sims led in that category, setting a new franchise record with 112 total.
  • Collier set a few Lynx rookie records, playing just over 1,131 minutes total and averaging 33:17 per game while grabbing 163 total defensive rebounds.

Several Lynx players reached big milestones this season:

  • Fowles scored her 5,000th point and made her 2,000th field goal, getting her 200th block along the way. She ended the season second in rebounding (3,332), fourth in blocks (621), 10th in made field goals (2,100), and 14th in free throws made (1,184) all-time.
  • Augustus moved up to 11th in points (5,881).
  • Sims scored her 2,000th point and grabbed her 200th steal.
  • Danielle Robinson recorded her 1,000th assist.
  • Damiris Dantas scored her 1,000th point and grabbed her 500th rebound.
