Georgia vs. Baylor- December 4, 2019

Two coaches that demand physicality and toughness out of their teams are Joni Taylor and Kim Mulkey.

This is a game that you can expect to be physical and gritty.

A season ago Georgia finished with an overall 18-12 record, but their record is not indicative of how hard they play.

When you look at Georgia’s schedule from last season, their 61-35 loss to Missouri is the only defeat that is glaring. Aside from that game, the Bulldogs found their self competing in every contest. There was even a point in the season where Georgia went on a five-game winning streak.

One thing that Baylor will have to prepare for is Georgia’s consistent effort.

A solid defensive performance will be key in Georgia’s matchup with the Lady Bears. As a team, the Bulldogs averaged 39.8 rebounds per game and 5.9 blocks per game.

If Lauren Cox fully recovers from her injury that she suffered in the NCAA Championship game against Notre Dame, the Bulldogs will have to be conscious of Cox’s efforts on the boards at all times.

Although the reigning champs lost some core pieces in Chloe Jackson and Kalani Brown.. Kim Mulkey still has a team that can do damage.

We saw the emergence of Nalyssa Smith throughout the season. Smith played as a reserve in her freshman campaign, but with her performances in her reserve role, Smith will probably move into a starting position.

With the unknown status of Cox, two players that can be counted on is Juicy Landrum and Didi Richards.

The duo knows what it feels like to start games, play together, and win.

Richards is a 6-foot-1 guard that can do the dirty work by rebounding and using her length to disrupt Georgia, while Landrum is just simply a tough guard to defend.

Landrum’s game is hard to defend because she finish around the cup and has a pull up game that can leave defenders stuck.

One thing that will not lack in this game is intensity. If you’re into games that possess teams who are scrappy.. and coaches that are just as scrappy, then tune into Baylor and Georgia.
