A lot of the questions that plagued the early part of Jewell Loyd’s career have now been answered. Is she a 1 or a 2? Clearly, the latter, next to Sue Bird and now Jordin Canada, she thrives. Can she turn her ability to create her own shot into a more efficient offensive output? You bet, as she lifted her true shooting percentage to 55 in 2018 while her usage went down somewhat. Can you win a championship with Jewell Loyd? Check that box, too, and it’s hard to imagine Seattle winning that title in 2018 without her. Loyd is still just 25, and the Storm will be asking even more of her in 2019, with Breanna Stewart and Sue Bird out. But there’s every reason to believe she’s up to the task.
