Sancho Lyttle (Rookie season/team: 2005 Houston Comets)

Player: The whole ’05 Comets

“I had Tina Thompson to look up to and play behind, so I sat on the bench and watch how they played and how they carried themselves on and off the court,” Lyttle said. I guess the whole team because they had won four championships. We had to respect that they had already won, and their work ethic in how they came in, played and practiced, get it done and go home. For me, it was kind of easy because I really didn’t know that much basketball, so I soaked everything that I could up. Because of who they were, you had to learn, because if you go in after them and you mess up, it’s like, ‘Didn’t you just see us do this properly?’ You had to take it in stride, but you had to soak it up really quick.”
