Cheryl Reeve (Minnesota Lynx)
Record: 213-93 (306 games coached)
It’s year 10 for Cheryl Reeve in Minnesota, and she enters 2019 as just the tenth coach in league history to reach that mark. Having won 69.6% of her 306 games, she boasts the highest win percentage of any coach in WNBA history.
Eight of her first nine seasons the Lynx finished with a winning record, and seven of those have been with at least 20 wins. Only Mike Thibault (11) and former Houston Comets head coach Van Chancellor (9) have had more winning seasons. She matched Chancellor with her fourth title in 2017, and she could pass him up on this list this summer. She is currently tied with Bill Laimbeer with the most 20-win seasons in league history with seven each, and with their past ties on the Detroit Shock coaching staff, it will be fascinating if one is able to separate from the other in this metric in 2019.
She coached her 300th game and earned her 200th win last season, so there are no other major milestones in view this year, but she can make some moves up the leader boards. In terms of games coached, she enters the year ninth all-time with 306, and she’ll pass Chancellor (322) and Lin Dunn (334). As far as wins are concerned, she is sixth with 213, and another winning season would push her past Michael Cooper (230).
