Games Played

Last season Sue Bird took over the top spot on the regular season games played leader board, passing DeLisha Milton-Jones to become the first to play 500 games and ending the season with 508 total. Every game she plays this season will continue to push that record upward, coupled with the fact that she has played every game for the Seattle Storm.

Here’s a look at the other active players in the top 25 or who could reach a new milestone (of at least 300 games) this season.

Some movement to watch for:

  • Rebekkah Brunson entered the top 10 last season, and though it’s unclear at this time how soon she may be able to play this year, she could move as high as fourth with 30 or more games.
  • Both Diana Taurasi and Tanisha Wright can become the 12th and 13th players to appear in at least 450 games, and both can climb in to the top 10 all-time. Taurasi would be just the third player to achieve both of those feats with a single team. (Bird in Seattle and Tamika Catchings in Indiana are the other two.) Wright would be the second-youngest to 450 behind Tangela Smith if she were to play at least 24 games this season.
  • Candice Dupree, Alana Beard, and Camille Little can all advance up the leader board further in to the top 25. Dupree has a chance to enter the top 15, while Beard and Little can make it to the top 20.
  • In a return from injury, at least 28 games for Sancho Lyttle would bring her total to 400 games, and at least 30 games can enter her name in the top 25.
