12. Seattle Storm selected Ezi Magbegor, 6’4 F/C, Australia

After last year’s title run, you really had to squint to see a team need that could or should be addressed at 12. Sophie Cunningham was first-round talent, as was Jessica Shepard, but Seattle had players like Sami Whitcomb and Alysha Clark to do what they would in 2019. So Seattle did the sensible thing if deciding that they were good for this season, which was to add Magbegor, who won’t be coming until next season.

That said, I really like their pick at 24, Anriel Howard, who has a lot of Clark in her as well, a plus-plus rebounder for her size, the ability to shoot the three and even can create her own shot. It wouldn’t surprise me at all to see her make a run at a roster spot. Macy Miller is a special collegiate player, too, who deserved to get her name called on draft night.
