5. Dallas Wings: Kalani Brown, 6’7 C, Baylor

Dallas is at the beginning of a massive rebuild, clearly. And we know Liz Cambage won’t be part of it, though whatever the Wings get for her in trade will be. So, too, will the fifth overall pick, and as Cambage replacements go, you can’t get much more on-the-nose than Kalani Brown, whose size overwhelms even the bigs who you’ll be seeing in the league soon, too. Striking to me this past weekend in Tampa was how forcefully Brown could manuever Brianna Turner, a gifted rebounder and defensive presence, out of the way to get whatever she needed at the rim. Brown is a gifted passer, with double-digit assist percentage to show for it, she has range out to the three-point line you can be sure Brian Agler will utilize, and she is a worthy counter to big bigs like Sylvia Fowles, Brittney Griner and, yes, Liz Cambage.
