3. Indiana Fever: Teaira McCowan, 6’7 C, Mississippi State

This remains the most logical combination of slot, talent, team need and fit in the entire draft. She’s the best rebounder in the country. She put up 26 and 24 against South Carolina, which means Dawn Staley sure doesn’t know how to stop her, and Dawn Staley can figure out anything. This is an Indiana team that finished last in the WNBA in rebounding percentage and block percentage in 2018. Fearless prediction: with Teaira McCowan at center, that won’t be true in 2019. And even better: Teaira McCowan has now matched her total assists for all of 2017-18, with one month (two months, quite possibly) left in her college career.
