In Chicago, Vandersloot received the franchise tag, a season after her wife, Allie Quigley, got it last season. The collective information from that should come as no surprise: the Sky clearly see the duo as a key part of their future, and as such, any dreams other cities had of luring the backcourt away have come to a screeching halt. The remainder of the projected starting lineup is all under contract — Gabby Williams and Diamond DeShields on rookie deals, Stef Dolson through 2019 — but Cheyenne Parker, a critical part of last year’s team and a versatile forward, will attract interest as a free agent for sure.
