“I’m looking for perfection and I understand you’re not going to ever really get it, but that’s what I’m striving for,” Wes Moore, Head Coach

Since his hire in 2013, Coach Moore immediately made an impact, beating ranked teams such as former ACC rival, Maryland, during regular season, among many others.  With the last game of the 2018 year completed, NC State has an overall record of 125-52 under the direction of Moore (468-131, overall).

Three NCAA Tournament appearances have occurred during his five years in Raleigh.  Last year, NC State reached the Sweet Sixteen, coming up short to Mississippi State (the national runner-up).

“Coach Moore does a great job of emphasizing rebounding and defense,” Konig said.  Rebounding and defense are the keys to the Wolfpack strategy.  Again, they are ranked top 10 nationally in rebounding.

Moore often takes responsibility for what the team may lack on any given day.  He acknowledges his team’s efforts, but knows they must continue to improve. They certainly have a target on their backs entering conference play. NC State is in the top quartile, as predicted by High Post Hoops at the start of the season, and the team shows no signs of slowing down.
