Howard: Jasmine, you recently broke down the battle between Jewell Loyd and Skylar Diggins-Smith in Dallas. If you could pick only one of them to start a team right now, which would you pick and why?

Jasmine Baker: I’d have to go with Skylar. Obviously I’m biased but it’s not without support. Conversations I’ve had with her indicate a leadership role she’s embraced and you see it on the court. Jewell came into a situation with her team that didn’t require the same responsibilities per se. Sky made a point about her pro teams not being turnkey. I feel because of that she’s had to grow into this role and it will make Dallas better for it come playoff time.

Not to mention she’s out to prove something, definitely has a chip on her shoulder.

Howard: Interesting. I have to agree, the way she’s worked with Liz Cambage has been revelatory.

They’re on my shortlist for dangerous postseason teams.
