3. Nneka Ogwumike

Nneka Ogwumike followed the most efficienct shooting season in the history of the WNBA with a campaign that only pales in comparison to what came before it—a mere 28.1 PER (still good for fourth in the league) paired with the fourth-best defensive points per possession rating in the league, per Synergy. She blocks shots, she grabs more steals than you’d expect from a stretch four, and she chopped her turnover rate down to just 9.4 percent in 2017. It is hard to argue Ogwumike over Parker or Parker over Ogwumike—both of them have figured out how to bring out the best in one another. And Ogwumike’s best is near the very top of the league.
