Most Improved Player: Courtney Williams, Sun

This was the most hotly contested award among our staff, and it’s because there are simply too many candidates who could make serious jumps this year. Ultimately, Williams wins, and you could have made the argument that she was one of the most improved players last year as well. She doubled her scoring output from her rookie to sophomore seasons while improving her shooting percentages across the board. This preseason, she’s been just as good. Through three preseason games, she leads the team in scoring and minutes and is shooting 68 percent from the field.
