Coach of the Year: Fred Williams, Wings

If the preseason is any indication, the Wings made a great choice by drafting Azure Stevens last month. The team went 16-18 last year without a strong inside presence, but now has Stevens and Liz Cambage, who hasn’t played in the league since 2013, to handle business down low. This gives some balance to a team led by Skylar Diggins-Smith and Allisha Gray in the backcourt. It all adds up to an expected jolt and serious playoff contention for Williams’ group, provided he can keep everyone on track.
