Kalani Brown, 6’7 C, Baylor

And so is Brown, though she does it in different ways. She isn’t as fit as McCowan, nor as immovable on the block, but her ancillary skills are potentially more promising. Brown is quite comfortable moving away from the basket, both shooting and facilitating (Brown posted another double-digit season in assist percentage, per HerHoopStats). Her block rate dropped this past season, though part of that is the continued emergence of Lauren Cox (watch this space for the remarkable WNBA player Cox is going to be come 2020). But consider also that this draft will happen after teams spend the next year getting beaten up by Sylvia Fowles, Brittney Griner and Liz Cambage. Twenty five percent of the time, that’s the matchup in the middle. Expect teams in the lottery to try and combat it come draft time.
