2018 WNBA Draft Big Board v. 4.0: Trade aftermath
9. Connecticut Sun: Kia Nurse 6′ G Connecticut
Let me tell you who was watching Kia Nurse absolutely blanket Asia Durr of Louisville in Connecticut’s win over the Cardinals on February 12: every WNBA talent evaluator. Seriously, look at this.
It’s not like Nurse was a secret, playing for the highest-profile program in the country, but sometimes individual skills can be lost in the shuffle at UConn when there are so many players doing so much, and no one needs to do it all. But Nurse, with the size to defend twos and even some threes at the next level, showed she could decimate the attack of Durr, who several WNBA evaluators have told me would be their top pick in the 2019 draft right now. It is easy to see how Nurse gets minutes with the Sun at the 1, 2 or 3.
