Season-by-season record:
2015-16: 9-21 (6-10)
2016-17: 3-27 (2-14)
2017-18: 5-21 (4-9)

Reason for departure: Delaware State has conducted a massive sweeping in efforts to improve their athletics and Burgess was a part of that sweeping. The men’s basketball coach and football coach were also fired. Burgess was let go with just three games remaining in the regular season.
