SEC tournament seeding scenarios
Okay, now we’ve now reached the complicated portion. There a few situations that if a certain team wins, the seeding is easy. If things get wild, as the SEC is prone to do, then that is another story entirely.

South Carolina is the 2 seed if…
A)They beat Tennessee
B) Missouri loses
C) If they lose, then Georgia AND Missouri wins (This would create a three-way tie. The records of those three between each other are: SC 2-1, UGA 1-1, Mizzou 1-2)
D)They lose, Mizzou wins, AND either Georgia or LSU finishes in 4th place
South Carolina is the 3 seed if…
They lose to Tennessee and Mizzou wins, AND Tennessee finishes in 4th place.

Georgia is the 3 seed if…
A) They win, Mizzou wins (UGA has head-to-head tiebreaker with Mizzou)
B) They win, USC loses and Mizzou wins (This would create a three-way tie. The records of those three between each other are: SC 2-1, UGA 1-1, Mizzou 1-2)
C) They lose, Mizzou loses, LSU wins (This would create a four-way tie. The records of the four teams tied between each other would be: UGA 2-1, TN 2-2, A&M 2-2, Mizzou 1-2)
D) They lose, Mizzou, LSU and Tenn all lose (This would create a three-way tie. The records of the three teams tied between each other would be: UGA 2-0, A&M 1-1, Mizzou 0-2)
Georgia is the 4 seed if… (all scenarios from here on about UGA is assuming they lose to UF)
A) Mizzou loses, LSU wins and Tenn. wins (This would create a five-way tie. The records of those five teams tied between each other would be: LSU 4-1, UGA 2-2, A&M 3-3, TN 2-3, Miz 1-3. In this scenario, UGA and A&M would be tied with a .500 record, but UGA owns the head-to-head tie breaker)
B) Mizzou wins, then LSU and Tenn. both lose
C) Mizzou, LSU and Tenn all lose (This would create a three-way tie. The records of those teams tied between each other would be: UGA 2-0, A&M 1-1, Miz 0-2)
D) LSU and A&M win ( This would create a four-way tie. The records of those teams tied between each other would be: LSU 3-1, UGA 2-1, A&M 2-2, Miz 0-3)

A) LSU, Mizzou win, Tenn loses (LSU owns the head-to-head tiebreaker with UGA)

LSU is the 6 seed if… (all scenarios from here on about LSU are assuming they lose to Alabama)
A) UGA, Mizzou and TN win (LSU and A&M split their meetings, so in this scenario, you must take the best winning percentage of them against top teams. They both lost to #1 MSU and #2 USC, but LSU beat #3 UGA so they would win this tiebreaker)

A) They win, A&M wins, UGA and LSU loses (This would create a four-way tie. The records of those teams tied between each other would be: UGA 2-1, TN 2-2, A&M 2-2, Miz 1-2. Since TN and A&M have the same record, and they split against each other, you must take the best winning percentage of them against top teams. They both lost to #1 MSU but TN beat #2 USC so they would win that tiebreaker)
