South Bend:
1. Notre Dame
16. CS Bakersfield (WAC)
8. Oregon State
9. Nebraska
You can forgive Nebraska for a minor slip-up against conference-favorite Maryland. Heck, the Cornhuskers even moved up a seed line, though that’s another one of those procedural bumps done to keep ACC schools from playing each other in the second round. You don’t have to tell anybody that, though.
Athens:
4. Georgia
13. UC Davis (Big West)
5. Villanova
12. South Dakota (Summit)
Villanova has won five in a row, but the Wildcats have a brutal schedule to close the regular season. First it’s that road swing to Marquette and DePaul (see above), then, after a home game against Providence, a senior day matchup with Creighton. Villanova will have its chance to earn a 4 seed.
