Starkville:

1. Mississippi State (SEC)
16. Bethune-Cookman (MEAC)

8. West Virginia
9. Syracuse

How’s this for a weird bracket quirk? Syracuse didn’t lose last week, but dropped two seed lines. In reality, the Orange really fell one spot in the true ranking, thanks to other teams passing them. The difference: they were a procedural move from an 8 to a 7 last week because of so much ACC crowding in the top halves of the regions.

Green Bay:

4. Green Bay (Horizon)
13. Belmont (Ohio Valley)

5. Stanford
12. Mercer (Southern)

How about the Cardinal, huh? They’ve gone from bubble team to borderline top-four seed in just a few weeks thanks to three wins over ranked teams in the past month. What, did you really doubt Tara VanDerveer? (No, you didn’t.)
