9. Connecticut Sun: Jordin Canada, 5’6 G UCLA
I think this is a steal, frankly. Canada gets dinged for her height, but this really isn’t a problem for her any more than it was for Moriah Jefferson, both of whom more than compensate with plus-plus quickness and intelligent, varied finishes around the rim. She is among the very best in the country in assist percentage, but seldom turns the ball over, playing in Cori Close’s pro-style offense. She shoots threes at a 38 percent clip, and even rebound well for her position, especially on the defensive end, a sign of her basketball IQ. Connecticut doesn’t need her to start on day one, but I don’t think Curt Miller can pass her up here.
