Columbia:

2. South Carolina
15. High Point (Big South)

7. Michigan State
10. Miami

A potential UConn-South Carolina Elite Eight game? Yes please. The Gamecocks have had a couple hiccups this year, but all against top-tier competition. A win over UConn in February or Mississippi State could bump them up to a 1 seed. Miami and Michigan State stay put this week, but they both face a rough week ahead.

Waco:

3. Baylor
14. Little Rock

6. Arizona State
11. Western Kentucky (CUSA)

As I suspected last week, the committee does not value Baylor’s resume much. It doesn’t mean the Bears aren’t as good as other 1 or 2 seeds, they just haven’t proven it yet. Their strength of schedule is 85 and they have beaten only two RPI top-50 teams — and one of those teams is 9-10 Oklahoma. Meanwhile the Sun Devils dropped a little bit after losing three straight, but they got back on track with a win over Colorado.
