13. Missouri 15-2 (3-1 SEC)

The Tigers’ win over South Carolina on Jan. 7 now makes them impossible to ignore as serious SEC contenders. Their road to the conference title, however, will not be easy. They catch a break by not having to play at Tennessee, but Mizzou does travel to Columbia and College Station.

14. Rutgers 17-3 (5-1 Big Ten)

The Scarlet Knights had a hiccup at Purdue, but that doesn’t undo victories at Michigan State and against Virginia and NC State.

15. Maryland 16-3 (5-1 Big Ten)

With home games against Ohio State and Rutgers on the horizon, Maryland has an excellent opportunity to move up. Until then, the resume isn’t quite strong enough to be a top-10 team.

16. Texas A&M 14-5 (3-2 SEC)

The Aggies are the only five-loss team on the list, but their wins over Tennessee and at USC are better than some teams listed above them. Fans just have to hope for no bad losses.
