1. ALBANY REGION: Connecticut 16-0 (5-0 AAC)

This one goes without saying. The Huskies are the No. 1 overall seed until someone beats them, and even then they still might be. Their next challenge is at South Carolina on Feb. 1.

2. LEXINGTON REGION: Louisville 19-0 (5-0 ACC)

I had a tough time ordering the remaining 1 seeds, but Louisville’s win over Notre Dame made things a little easier. The Cardinals also own wins over Duke, Michigan, Oregon, and Ohio State.

3. KANSAS CITY REGION: Mississippi State 19-0 (5-0 SEC)

I’ll have no problem putting Mississippi State as the second overall team if it can win at Tennessee this weekend, but for now the Bulldogs settle in at No. 3. They’ve also defeated Oregon and are 8-0 against the RPI top 50.

4. SPOKANE REGION: Notre Dame 16-2 (5-1 ACC)

Notre Dame was a tough call for the final 1 seed and it could have just as easily gone to the Lady Vols. Luckily, those two play each other tonight, so view the Irish as a placeholder here. For now.
