Last year’s record: 6-24, 3-13 B1G

Key Returns:

Tyler Scaife: 5’9:  2015-2016 season- 17.2 PPG, 2.9 RPG, 2.6 APG; Second Team All-B1G by both coaches and media, scored 18.7 PPG during the B1G schedule.

Biggest Losses:

G-Shrita Parker, 5’7 : 12 PPG, 3.2 RPG, 2.5 APG; Honorable Mention All-Big Ten

F-Kandiss Barber, 5’10 : 8.9 PPG, 4.9 RPG; Second leading scorer at Rutgers, played in 29 games with 19 starts, reached double figure scoring in 11 games

G-Aliyah Jeune, 6’1:  8.2 PPG, 3.2 RPG, 1.7 APG; Appeared in all 30 games, led Rutgers in scoring five times

Key Non-Conference matchups:

South Carolina: 11/24

Virginia: 12/4

Outlook: Rutgers is coming off one of their worst seasons, finishing with a 6-24 record under Hall of Fame coach C. Vivian Stringer. They have lost their top three scorers from last year in Shrita Parker, Kandiss Barber, and Aliyah Jeune. The bright spot for this program is that they will have senior standout Tyler Scaife returning from injury. But there is a real concern about the team’s depth.
