Head coach: Jim Littell’s presence has been felt in Stillwater. He has guided the Cowgirls to 20-win seasons in each of his first five seasons. They ended the 2016-2017 season with a 17-15 record, going 6-12 in conference. The Cowgirls turned some heads by beating the defending Big 12 tournament champion, West Virginia, with a score of 67-63.
Key non-conference games:
Tennessee 11/24
Mississippi State 12/3
UCLA 12/8
Outlook: The Cowgirls have solid talent returning this season. They are led by Kaylee Jensen who received Preseason All-Big 12 team honors. Although they did not finish as well as they have in previous seasons, I believe they have the talent to make some noise this year. The Cowgirls need to have consistent production from multiple players so that the load is not on Jensen night in and night out.
