Howard: So let’s talk about the Sparks. I’m hesitant to chalk up that loss to New York as more than a hangover after the Lynx win. Consider that both Minnesota and Los Angeles lost their next game after the last time the two met as well. But you saw them at their worst just after they played their best and won at Minnesota. The question I guess I have is, are they at risk of losing to the Sun in what would right now be the chalk WNBA semifinal series?

Erica: The Sparks, as it turned out, lacked just that. After a strong start, NY was able to disrupt their rhythm and LA never got back on track. I think if the semi were tomorrow, the game would be a lot closer than most would expect.

With that said, neither team feels they are playing at their peak, so it will be interesting to see what LA team hits the court for their next home game.

Howard: Yes, really curious about that, not to mention Minnesota coming to LA on August 27 as well.
