Stat Pack: Parker nets her first career triple-double

Augustus and Fowles throw the one-two punch
Year after year, the Minnesota Lynx relentlessly accumulate wins. They start to blur together after a while, but there were some glimmering moments in their 90-80 win over the Atlanta Dream on the road.
Sylvia Fowles maintained her MVP pace with 29 points and 8 rebounds. Her old college teammate, Seimone Augustus, was just as prolific in creating offense. The seven-time All-Star recorded the second double-double of her career with 14 points and 10 assists. Considering that her first double-double was nine years ago, there’s no telling when Augustus could add another one.
“Scoring and dropping double-double with assists is hard to do,” Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve said.
However, the longest-tenured Lynx player is stepping up as a facilitator this season. Known as a scorer early in her career, Augustus never had more than 2.7 assists per game before the 2017 season. Through Friday night, she’s averaging 3.9 per game. No one will confuse Augustus with traditional point guards like Lindsay Whalen, but no one can dispute how effectively Augustus is tailoring her skill set to mesh with Minnesota’s star-studded team.
Don’t tell the Lynx they’ve won the title just yet, but with an 18-2 record, finding a challenger is increasingly difficult.
