Five trades the WNBA thinks the WNBA should make
Sydney Colson to New York for second round pick
Ever since Brittany Boyd was lost for the season with an achilles injury, the Liberty have needed another point guard. They’ve brought in Lindsay Allen, their second round pick, but she’s struggled with turnovers. Bria Hartley, part of that three-team deal last offseason for Swords, is more of a classic off guard than primary ball handler.
So why not add Sydney Colson, who does many of the things Boyd does? She has both a top-ten finish in steal percentage and two top-ten assist percentage seasons on her resume. And San Antonio, at long last, looks prepared to find out what their Kelsey Plum-Moriah Jefferson lineup looks like, if the most recent game is any indication. Adding another draft pick to the talent pool for the future in San Antonio is an easy call.
