Against a Minnesota Lynx team on a mission, Seattle missed an opportunity to put itself in the conversation for the WNBA’s best on June 3. There are some questions here, nothing that can’t be answered, but: why when Sylvia Fowles was exploding for 26 points in a half didn’t Jenny Boucek either play Carolyn Swords, Seattle’s big acquisition, or double Fowles? Is Breanna Stewart at peak physical capacity, or is there a reason for her atypical numbers so far? And with Sue Bird’s overall and three-point accuracy down considerably from 2016, but in line with 2014 and 2015, was last year the outlier for her at this point in her career?
