Right now, the Liberty can’t quite reach their new identity of a more transition-oriented team, nor are they embracing the path to the Eastern Conference’s top record each of the past two seasons. A top-three defense last year is currently eighth in the league. And without a logical playmaker to push the pace—Lindsay Allen is helpful, but more of a halfcourt point guard—it isn’t easy to see how they solve this. Still, Tina Charles is Tina Charles.
