Look, the Stars are moving forward with their three-guard plans. And the Liberty didn’t want to give up Kiah Stokes in a deal, making talks a non-starter. But let’s imagine what this would look like.

Would the Stars really say no to a deal built around, say, Kiah Stokes, Rebecca Allen and a number one pick in 2018? San Antonio’s lineup would look like this: Stokes at the 4/5 with Kayla Alexander, Allen at small forward, Kayla McBride slipping back into the two and Moriah Jefferson at the point.

As for the Liberty, they’d get that legit second star to pair with Tina Charles. Prince can return to her devastating off-ball work. The Liberty could feature Amanda Zahui B more, along with Kia Vaughn, to make up for the loss of Stokes. And Burdick/Raincock-Ekunwe would hold down the small forward spot.

Just saying: doesn’t this one make a ton of sense for both sides?
