The recent cuts

The training camp cuts are the easiest to re-integrate, since they spent significant time learning how the Liberty play. Second round pick Lindsay Allen out of Notre Dame is a sage playmaker who is probably the easiest fit. She was better in transition for Notre Dame this past season, though, so she doesn’t necessarily address the team’s halfcourt needs. That player is more likely Ameryst Alston, the Ohio State product selected by the Liberty in the second round of the 2016 draft, and who spent the 2017 training camp with New York as well. Alston, her senior year as a Buckeye, ranked among the most efficient point guards in halfcourt sets.
