Why does this still happen? In terms of a strict, structural zone, the NBA collectively ditched the thing years ago, as has most of the W. And yet the Dream still throw it out there. Michael Cooper’s a good coach, and he’ll switch off it quickly if it doesn’t work, usually with little damage done. But it’s such an annoyingly not-fun ineffective defense that even seeing it for a couple of possessions is disconcerting.
