The Money Line: Odds, Prediction for WNBA Defensive Player of the Year
The Contenders
Sylvia Fowles, Minnesota Lynx (+250)
When its all said and done, Fowles will likely go down as one of the best centers the league has ever seen. Already seventh all-time in blocks (465) and 14th in rebounds (2272), Fowles continues to be a force for the constantly contending Lynx. Last season, the 31-year-old led the league in defensive rating, and also put up a top 20 all-time season for defensive win shares. More impressive is the fact that she did all that while playing just 28.6 minutes per game, the second fewest of her career. The award is, very likely, Fowles’ to lose.
