NATASHA HOWARD

Natasha Howard had a breakout campaign in her first year with Minnesota. She was second in the league in defensive rating at 95 and sixth in the league in field goal shooting at 57.4 percent. Not too shabby for a bench player.

However, Howard is still searching for her first WNBA championship. In the last two years, her teams were on the losing end of a fifth game in the WNBA Finals; she was on Indiana’s roster in 2015 and moved to Minnesota last year.

“I know everybody on the team has a chip on their shoulder, so that’s going to be one thing that motivates us,” she said.

Howard returned last Saturday following an overseas stint in Italy. She’s looking forward to working with James Wade, one of the assistants the Lynx hired to replace Jim Petersen.
