MAYA MOORE

Three WNBA titles. Three Olympic gold medals. Four All-Star selections. The growing list of accolades in Maya Moore’s repertoire could make for a great story on its own. While Moore won’t stop searching for ways to get better, she never forgets a sage piece of advice regarding her approach to basketball.

“Don’t spend most of your time trying to be excellent at your weaknesses. Spend most of your time trying to be excellent at what you’re already gifted at,” she said.

In that case, Moore is gifted at dishing the ball. She averaged a career-high 4.2 per game last year, good for seventh on the WNBA leader board. Moore’s fans brim with excitement at every basket she makes, but the 27-year-old perks up with every assist she records.

“It was fun. I really enjoy setting my teammates up,” she said. “Thinking about this season…something that I think I will find more delight in is helping my teammates be better.”

Apparently, Moore’s teammates also find delight in her cooking skills. Renee Montgomery crashed the interview during a Periscope session and proceeded to tell reporters about her delicious recipes.
