ALEXIS JONES

Alexis Jones was Minnesota’s first-round draft pick for 2017. Her father was a big influence in her choice to pursue basketball. She started her college career at Duke, worked her way through an ACL injury, and finished her collegiate journey at Baylor.

Naturally, Jones is excited to represent a storied franchise, and her comrades are just as eager to incorporate the rookie.

“Knowing that I can turn around and they’ll talk me through it, it’s a great opportunity to learn. It’s a great feeling when you know great players are willing to help you get better at your career,” she said.

Playing time may not be plentiful for the 22-year-old, but Jones is intent on bolstering Minnesota’s perimeter options.

“With the three-point thing…making sure that when I’m open, I can knock down that three-point shot,” she said.
