SHAO TING

Shao Ting, one of the rookies looking to make Minnesota’s roster, carries solid credentials with her experience in China. She has won two titles with Beijing in the Women’s Chinese Basketball Association, and she made her Olympic debut last year with the Chinese national team. Ting is enjoying her experience in Minnesota, and is proud about the friendships she has made here.

“They always help me, because we speak a different language and maybe sometimes I cannot understand what coach says. They will show me how to do it,” she said.

Ting has plenty of familiarity with the Lynx veterans. She and Sylvia Fowles are teammates on Beijing’s team, and she had to face the Lynx contingent of Olympians last year. Being alongside them is a jubilant disposition for Ting.

“I’m so happy. I always wanted to become a teammate with them. I always liked them,” she said.
