Katie Meier will keep watch of the Miami Hurricanes for a few more seasons.

On Monday, Miami announced a three-year contract extension for Meier, a deal keeps her signed through the 2023-24 season.

“Commitment and continuity are major factors in a program’s development and this extension provides that. Personally, I am so deeply rooted here at The U and in the Miami community, which makes this even more special,” Meier said in a statement published by the university.

Meier, 49, has provided a beacon of consistency in her 12 years with the Hurricanes. They have reached the NCAA tournament in six of the last seven years, and passed the 20-win mark in seven of the last eight. Miami’s tournament run this year was ended by an upset from Quinnipiac.

However, the loss doesn’t upset the qualifications in Meier’s favor. As a head coach, she passed 300 career wins this season. She will also be inducted in Miami’s Sports Hall of Fame on April 18. Meier received AP National Coach of the Year honors in 2011, and two of her prodigies, Shenise Johnson and Riquna Williams, are currently in the WNBA.
