Mississippi State vs. West Virginia- December 8, 2019

Mississippi State is a team who has relied on the post play of Teaira McCowan for the past four seasons. Even as a freshman when McCowan was not yet a big time scorer, her 6-foot-7 presence still made an impact.

This game will give viewers a chance to see a new Mississippi State team, minus the attention that McCowan demanded on the inside.

The Bulldogs roster features four freshmen.

Chloe Bibby is the lone double-digit scorer that will be returning for the Bulldogs. Bibby averaged 11.9 points per game before being sidelined with a knee injury. This is a chance to watch Bibby play post-injury.

Due to some injuries, whether major or small, the Mountaineers were a team that conveyed a short roster in the 2018-2019 season.

As of now, the Mountaineers have ten members on their roster. In correspondence with NCAA rules, the maximum roster size is 15 players meaning we can expect West Virginia’s head coach Mike Carey to fill those spots.

If you’re a West Virginia fan applauds of joy will surround the return of Tynice Martin.  The redshirt senior had some buzz about not returning to college basketball and opting to begin her WNBA career early. But with Martin back, viewers can see why the Atlanta native is in fact WNBA material.

With both teams returning fairly young cores, or young in the sense that we have not seen a lot of them these players log a lot of minutes, this game can show what both squads bring to the table.

Mississippi State and West Virginia will both be returning key players in Martin and Bibby.

This game can test both teams on can Martin and Bibby pick up where they left out and what younger core can be deemed better.
